Our family raises around 200 pasture, non-GMO fed, freedom rangers every summer. We sell a lot of our chickens, but also keep enough to last us the whole year. Each summer, the kids help us feed and water these animals every day, twice a day. They put in a hard amount of work, and then fall comes and they usually watch us load all the chickens up and take them to butcher. Last year they helped a little, but this year I am beyond impressed. The girls got in the mobile coop with Robert and helped hand me all the chickens to put in the truck. They are not afraid and truly understand the process. They cuddled and held these animals all throughout the summer, and even today were saying things to them like “it’s okay baby, I got you” and being very sweet. But at the same time I also heard comments like “mmmmm mmm chicken!!” Lol. Farm kids are the best kids. And these girls got it going on. 👏🏽
